Hiking Eagle River Nature Center

On a nice sunny Saturday we went on a hike with some friends of ours. The Ausmus and Shaw families. We went to the Eagle River Nature Center where there are lots of trails and supposedly a very curious black bear...although all we saw of him were some piles of bear poop! I am sure all the kids, there were 9 all together, kept the noise level loud enough that no wildlife came near our group. The weather was beautiful and we had a great day. The kids managed really well, especially if snacks were kept readily available and they took a few turns in the strollers. Carson rode on Josh's back...he would much rather be there than in a stroller and loved looking around at everything. Bella had a great time with all the other little girls running and laughing.
Either way, we are both carrying babies, and I think we did quite well! The kids loved taking a break to throw some rocks in the water. The guys were practicing their rock skipping capabilities...one even made it all the way across the water!

Can you see the little waterfall?
I never get tired of the amazing views every where you look up here.

Afterwards we had a picnic and let the kids run around and play.

Trying so hard to look out that telescope.

We had a great time and hope to have many more days like this as the summer continues.
Later that evening...yes this is around 8 or so at night, bright huh, Bella got to go fishing at a lake with Josh and some other friends of ours.
